Hillsbourough Disaster

On April 15 1989,  24,000 Liverpool fans travelled to a football match. 96 never returned. Over 20 years after Britain's worst sporting disaster, we want the world to see the faces of the fans whose hopes and dreams for the future ended that day.

Collectively they've become known as 'The 96' but to the families and friends they left behind, they were simply a dad, a son, a brother and a sister; a cousin, an auntie, an uncle and a grandad; a boyfriend, a husband, a soul mate and a best friend.

As the wife of one of the supporters who never came home so eloquently put it in a letter published on this website on the 20^th anniversary of the disaster, "To the world my husband is one of the 96, but to me and his children, he was always our number one."

To those who didn't know them, the fans who died at Hillsborough that day may just be a number of names etched into the Hillsborough Memorial marble.

24,000 tickets, 23 turnstiles, two criminally overcrowded pens, 96 dead and 766 people injured - numbers alone don't even begin to tell half the story of a disaster that has shaped Liverpool Football Club and the fans that will forever follow it.

Probably the most significant number in this whole sorry tragedy is the one that depicts the age of each victim on the slide show below.

That number, and the faces staring back at you - captured during happier times - tells you everything you need to know about why the events of April 15, 1989 and the fans who died that day will never ever be forgotten.

Hotel - Hotel Unik di Dunia

1. Hotel Kapsul (Capsule Hotel)

The Capsule inn Akihabara merupakan hotel unik yang hanya ada di Jepaang.  Coba anda bayangkan, bagaimana tinggal di ruangan semacam lorong sempit berukuran 1 x 2 meter? Walaupun hotel kapsul tersebut sempit, namun fasilitas di dalamnya sangatlah lengkap disamping kasur, TV, radio juga Wireless LAN (Wifi).
Biaya sewa tiap kamar di hotel ini sekitar 3.700 Yen per malam. Beberapa karyawan menggunakan hotel macam ini untuk lembur dan bekerja, juga beristirahat ketika mereka tidak bisa pulang kantor. Saat ini, banyak pula wisatawan asing yang tertarik untuk mencoba tinggal di hotel kapsul ini.

2. Hotel Drakula (Vampire Hotel)

Di Propeller Island City Lodge, Berlin, ada sebuah hotel aneh dan agak menyeramkan. Bagaimana tidak, hotel yang memiliki 31 kamar ini mirip ruangan di film - film vampire atau drakula yang sering kita saksikan. Di hotel ini kita akan tidur di dalam peti mati yang biasa diisi oleh drakula. Kamar - kamar yang ada pun sangat unik dan mungkin sangat cocok bagi Anda yang senang akan petualangan.

3. Hotel Bawah Laut

 Pulau pribadi tidak hanya menyenangkan untuk sebuah wisata, namun juga bisa kita kembangkan sebagai tempat wisata bawah laut yang sangat indah. Kita dapat melihat banyak spesies (biota) bawah laut, baik terumbu karang yang sangat indah maupun ribuan ikan laut yang sangat menawan. Di bawah laut Poseidon Resort di daerah pulau karang di Fiji dikembangkan suatu resort bawah laut yang sangat menawan. Resort ini terdiri dari Villa mewah dan kamar suite yang dibangun untuk Anda yang suka dengan wisata petualangan. Hotel ini telah dibuka tahun lalu.  Dari kamar, kita bsia melihat luas pemandangan laut secara nyata.

4. Hotel Pipa Gorong - Gorong

 Daspark Hotel adalah sebuah hotel di Austria yang kamar-kamarnya terbuat dari pipa drainase/gorong-gorong, yang biasa digunakan untuk saluran air. Jadi, bagian dalam dari gorong-gorong itu didesain menjadi sebuah tempat tidur yang dilengakapi dengan lemari, pencahayaan yang baik, serta selimut. Harga yang dipatok untuk penginapan ini sangat fleksibel. Mereka juga menyiapkan toilet, shower, serta minibar, dan juga cafe di ruangan layanan umum tamu.

5. Hotel Es

 Hotel yang terdapat di Swedia ini terbuat dari beberapa balok es besar dan hampir mirip dengan konsep rumah Eskimo, namun sangat besar. Suhunya pun sungguh sangat dingin. Bayangkan, di lobi hotel ini terdapat banyak patung es. Sedangkan para tamu, tidur di sebuah kantung tidur (sleeping bag) khusus dengan pemanas atau sistem thermal yang terbuat dari kulit rusa kutub. Anda bisa menikmati segelas Vodka dan Lingonberry hangat di sela istirahat anda.

6. Hotel Penjara Tua

 Hotel yang dibuat dari bekas sebuah ppenjara tua, benar-benar kita serasa tinggal dalam penjara, namun kita memiliki kebebasan untuk keluar masuk sel. Beberapa sel dan sistem kunci penjara di hotel ini pun disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan. Jadi, tidak seperti penjara pada umumnya.
